West Middle School Supply Kits

WELCOME TO WEST MIDDLE SCHOOL

Our goal at West Middle School will be to provide our students the absolute best educational environment and an important piece to this is establishing relationships early and consistently. To do this, we will be assigning counselors and assistant principals to specific grade-levels that will travel with the students during all three of their years at WMS.  The assignments 2022-23 school year are listed below:

"The Delaware Trail Sweep" 
Arrival and Dismissal Traffic Patterns for Car Riders
Sacrificing for Safety

This traffic pattern is known as the Delaware Sweep because access to West Middle School during arrival and dismissal is restricted to the access road south of Delaware Trail Elementary. We ask that parents “sweep” around Delaware Trail when accessing West Middle School for the arrival and dismissal of car riders. 

Arrival – “The Delaware Sweep AM” from 7:00 – 7:45 a.m. 

A. When dropping children off in the morning, please access West Middle School from the access road North of Delaware Trail Elementary off of Hornaday Road. The entrance to West Middle School off Odell will not be accessible for dropping off students between 7:00 and 7:45 a.m. 

B. Upon entering south of Delaware Trail, follow the access road around to West Middle School. Please proceed on the south side of West Middle School and follow the access road around to Door 20 on the south side of West Middle School (near softball fields). 
C. Students should be let off in the “Student Drop Zone”. This zone includes the sidewalk beginning by the softball fields of West Middle School and ends at Door 20. 

D. After dropping off students, drivers should wait patiently and follow the traffic out of the car rider line exit. This will exit onto Odell. 

E. Students may not be dropped off on Odell Street.

Dismissal – “The Delaware Sweep PM” from 2:00 - 2:45 p.m. 

A. Cars may access BWMS’ west parking lot by entering the access road north of Delaware Trail Elementary School. This access is off of Hornaday Road. Please follow the directions below. They are the same as the procedures for arrival in the morning. 

B. Note: After 2:00 P.M., cars may not access the West’s west parking lot for pick-up from the southwestern entrance on Odell Street. This entrance will be blocked. 

Alternative option for arrival and dismissal 

Parents may also utilize the tennis court parking lots off Hornaday Road to drop-off and pick up students. We ask that you enter that lot at the northern entrance and proceed around so that you may exit onto Hornaday at the south exit.
