The annual State of our Schools newsletter was delivered to all Brownsburg mailboxes in early January. In this publication, Brownsburg Community School Corporation (BCSC) explained how recent legislative changes have negatively impacted the money available to support the district's Operations Fund. BCSC will hold Community Engagement Sessions to give taxpayers a comprehensive look into how our schools are funded and how changes like last year’s Senate Enrolled Act 1 (SEA 1) will alter the funds available to effectively operate a school corporation.
Our Community Engagement series has begun. Please see the links above to view the presentations and a recording of the meeting(s) We will continue to talk about potential solutions and discuss our current financial situation in greater detail at future sessions. Community input and advocacy is necessary as we work to ensure continued excellence at Brownsburg Community School Corporation. We would like attendees to commit to attend all five meetings as the content will build from session to session and we will not start over each time. All meetings are on Wednesday nights (dates below) at 6:30pm. Sessions will take place in the BCSC Board Room at 310 Stadium Dr, please enter door #7.
Our two strategic goals to provide immediate relief for BCSC included advocating to State representatives for legislative changes and working on a partnership with the town. Our first two sessions primarily focused on you advocating to your State Senator and State Representative. Moving forward, we would like to see you advocate at an even more local level.
The Brownsburg Redevelopment Commission (RDC) promotes a positive town image through well-designed, high-quality development; assists with planning and development of businesses in designated areas; secures a comfortable quality of life for residents; and aids in the elimination of inappropriate land use. The Redevelopment Commission consists of six board members: three are appointed by the Town Council President, two are appointed by the Town Council, and one is a non-voting member appointed by Brownsburg Community School Corporation.
At an upcoming RDC meeting, the school will be presenting a request for financial support. This presentation will take place at Town Hall on Thursday, April 16, 2026*, at 5:30pm. Our request will be for the RDC to approve the use of TIF dollars to pay for workforce development opportunities within BCSC.
We ask that you please consider reaching out to the RDC and the Brownsburg Town Council to show support for our schools. Contact info can be found on the back of this page. Your specific Town Council ward representative can be found here: https://www.brownsburg.org/288/Town-Council
