Reading and Writing Curriculum

Kindergarten:

  • Reading Curriculum: Wonders by McGraw Hill
  • Writing: Six Traits of Writing by Smekens Education Solutions
  • Handwriting Without Tears
  • Remedial Programs: Students needing remedial reading may participate in After  School Intervention and/or Learning Lab.  During these remediation offerings,       students may use Wonders materials, Orton-Gillingham approach, and Literacy       Footprints.

1st Grade:

  • 1st Grade Books: Why do Birds Sing?, Little Cloud, Johnny Appleseed
  • Writing: Six Traits of Writing by Smekens Education Solutions
  • Remedial Programs: Students needing remedial reading may participate in After School Intervention and/or Learning Lab.  During these remediation offerings, students may use Wonders materials, Orton-Gillingham approach, and Literacy Footprints.
