MEET THE SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATES NIGHT – OCTOBER 30, 6:30pm
The leaders of school Parent Support Groups and the Brownsburg Classroom Teachers Association are sponsoring a forum to give you a chance to hear from all 5 candidates for the two open school board seats before you make your decision. The forum takes place at 6:30pm in the BCSC Board Room, 310 Stadium Drive, enter door #7. While they don't get as much attention, these offices have the potential to affect our community in a big way. Don't miss this opportunity to get informed!
BHS DISTINGUISHED GRADUATE COMMITTEE
Over the past two months BHS Administration has met with current 8th grade families to share information about the elimination of class rank and the move to recognizing students for academic excellence through a Distinguished Graduate program. BHS Administration is now seeking additional feedback for the development of this program through a Distinguished Graduate Program Committee. The committee is open to any BCSC parent (not just the parents of 8th grade students) and will meet three times from 6:30pm – 8pm: Thursday, November 1, Thursday, November 29, and Thursday, December 13. We ask that you only sign up if you are able to make it to all three meetings. Please email Tracy Damone at firstname.lastname@example.org by October 30th to volunteer for the committee. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact Assistant Superintendent Dr. Kat Jessup.

REAGAN ELEMENTARY IS A 2018 NATIONAL BLUE RIBBON SCHOOL
This afternoon U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced that Reagan Elementary has been named a 2018 National Blue Ribbon School. Reagan is one of 349 public and private schools in the country, and only 7 in Indiana, receiving this honor. Schools are nominated for the award by the state department of education, and then complete a comprehensive application about school practices. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program honors public and private elementary, middle and high schools where students achieve very high learning standards or are making notable improvements in closing the achievement gap. Congratulations to the students, staff, and families of Reagan Elementary!
