VISION BCSC is an exciting program that involves parents and community members in a year-long dialogue with the Brownsburg Community School Corporation. Maintaining a high level of parent/community confidence, preserving the sense of small town heritage, dealing with the challenges of a growing, diverse population, and encouraging strong two-way communication within the Brownsburg Community, are goals of the program.
In 10 monthly sessions, VISION participants go “behind the
scenes”of BCSC to meet the people who are responsible for
programs and services, to see first-hand how the Corporation creates
a climate of success for its rapidly growing student population.
Sessions focus on specific areas of operations - from pre-school
to graduation, the classroom to the transportation facility, and
buildings to balance sheets. Sessions involve small group discussion,
hands-on activities, tours, shadowing, guided observation, and
a minimal amount of lecture.
Each January, a new VISION class is formed and in November, VISION
BCSC graduates leave with a new perspective on public schools.
